About Us

I'm Bilingual!®

Languages Through Music

Joyful, culturally authentic

Spanish learning for young children

through songs, stories, and movement.

Our Story

I’m Bilingual!® was created by Yolanda Borrás, a Dominican-born early childhood music educator, curriculum developer, and master teacher trainer.

In New York City, Yolanda founded an early childhood music program and designed its curriculum so that educators could offer classes in seven languages. Through years of working with young children, she saw the same truth repeated across languages and cultures: children learn language naturally when they sing, move, play, and engage with music.

As bilingual, dual language and Spanish immersion continued to grow across the United States, Yolanda recognized a significant need for quality, culturally authentic Spanish-language materials for young children. She chose to focus her experience and expertise on developing a Spanish curriculum that educators could integrate into their existing classrooms and programs.

Field-tested for more than fifteen years and aligned with state and national learning standards, I’m Bilingual!® now supports educators and young learners in classrooms throughout the United States and the Caribbean.

What Makes Our Approach Different

At I’m Bilingual!®, music is not an extra activity. It is the foundation for language, movement, connection, and learning.

Our curriculum begins with culturally authentic songs from Spanish speaking cultures and expands them into meaningful experiences across early literacy, mathematics, social emotional learning, movement, and creative expression.

Designed as a flexible supplemental curriculum, I’m Bilingual!® can be integrated into the programs, routines, and teaching practices educators already use. The materials are classroom ready, field tested, and created to help teachers engage young children through singing, movement, play, listening, and active participation.

The result is an approach that is joyful, practical, and deeply connected to language and culture.
